A BIRTH OF AN NEW FLAG LEAGUE

WELCOME, To The New York-New Jersey Metro Flag Football League (MFFL).
A new flag football league where anybody can play 20 years old and up, pick-up games will be in tournament format. Anybody can choose to be the team captain, draft their players to be part of their team, the maximum of players. All experiences are invited to join where we can grow our skills, grow the level of competition in the league, and learn to play flag football together.

RULES / PLAYOFF FORMAT

  • 8 team captains will select seven of their players in a metro league draft before the very first set of games.
  • 8 teams in total this league will have, 4 teams part of two conferences, American Metro Conference & National Metro Conference.
  • The group stage will be 4 games, all four teams played 1 game against each team in their conference.
  • The 2 teams with the most wins and greater Winning percentage gets the #1 seed for both sides of the bracket, 1st round bye, home-field advantage and automatic first drive on offense.
  • The teams who get the second most wins and the second highest winning percentage will become the #2 seed, home-field advantage, 1st round bye, and receives an automatic first drive on offense.
  • The two teams with the most losses and the lowest winning percentage, have to play against each other for the #7 seed. Whoever loses gets the #8 seed.
  • Wildcard, divisional round, conference, and Metro League Championship.
  • Whoever wins the tournament becomes the Metro league champions. And will defend their title in the next tournament with the same team their team captain drafted.
  • The losing teams who failed to win the championship, 7 new team captains will draft a new set of seven players for their teams.
  • If The defending Metro champions fail to retain their title in the next tournament.
    There will be a new team captain, and seven new players for the new team.
  • Once the teams are already selected by the team captains. Do a coin toss whoever wins the points they can start the game with the ball on offense or they can defer to the opposing team will start the game off on defense.
  • Like in regular football, there will be four downs. Here’s a kicker. You’re gonna need 20 yards to get the first down. So you’ll start your drive at the 20 yard line.
  • 7 on 7 on a 80 yards long field (splitting it into two 80-yard fields so we can have two games being played at the same time)
  • Game to 21
  • Touchdowns - 6 pts
  • Extra point - 1pt
  • 2pt conversions are allowed
  • Sudden death when the game is tied up of 14 or tied up of 16 (if both team use two point conversions during the game) first team to score the last touchdown wins.
  • You can run and pass the ball in this league. Most importantly be competitive, and have fun.
