Sports Performance Analytics with Power BI

Andrew Kinnier, along with special guest Lindsay Tilley, will present Sports Performance Analytics with Power BI at our next meeting on January 30, 2020.

Lindsay Tilley is the founder of Hockey Edge Agility Training (http://skatewithheat.com). HEAT was formed to give hockey players the opportunity to improve their skating skills and overall strength. She is a triple gold medalist with US Figure Skating in the disciplines of Moves in the Field, Free Skating, and Ice Dancing and has been coaching competitive figure skaters and hockey players for over 15 years.

Andrew Kinnier, of Data Ignite, will also present Professional Hockey Analytics. This is a proof of concept that has “shot based” analytics from three games of a playoff series between Washington and Pittsburgh.

We’ll go through the concepts and then dig into the technology for each use case.
