Let's do this transit friendly hike that I did for the first time a few months. It was way too hot and miserable that day so I wanted to do it on a cooler day where we could actually hang out at Anthony's nose without being pestered with lantern flies.

**The Plan**
We will meet at Grand Central station 08h30 to catch the 08h56 train to Manitou. We will get off at Manitou at 10h06am. If you are driving I recommend parking at Peekskill and catching the train at 09h58 there. I have a car but I am taking the train this time. We will get off the train and walk on Manitou Station Road to Manitou Road to South Mountain Pass Road where we will meet with the AT. We will hike on the AT towards Anthony's Nose. We will switch to the Camp Smith trail and end up at old Bear Mountain Toll House. We will then walk for about 0.9 miles on 202 towards a trail the will take us straight into Peekskill. We will get some burritos and beer for late lunch early dinner next to the train station and catch one of the trains that goes to the city every 20 minutes. Plan to be back in the city around 6:30 to 7pm for those stopping for Mexican food after the hike.

**Distance and duration**

This is a 9 mile hike from Manitou to Peekskill. With stops for food and pictures, etc we should be done around at 3pm but 4pm the latest if we stop for longer time.
