Description
Thomas Edison built complex of red brick buildings on West Orange’s Main Street in 1887. The facility, one of the largest & most technologically advanced for the time, allowed Edison to develop & mass produce many of his earlier inventions, including phonograph & to develop movie camera, the nickel-iron alkaline electric storage battery & start film industry. Thomas Edison also lived about 3/4 of a mile away from his lab at his Glenmont Estate.
