What is your opinion on tariffs and can they positively augment the US economy?

We're back after a several-month hiatus! Looking to return to our regularly monthly frequency this summer. Any and all welcome, the more ideas the better.

Given the trade tariffs implemented under various Executive powers recently, do you believe that ultimately they will increase American prosperity or work to impoverish us? Are national security concerns strong enough to warrant such action? Let's discuss.
