Ugly Sweater Holiday Lights Ride
I led ugly sweater rides to the Dyker Heights holiday lights spectacular in 2015 and 2016 and they were pretty popular, so let's do it again! Don't let the cold weather scare you. Throw on your base layers, get some good gloves, and come out for a good time! Ugly sweaters are optional, of course, but they make the ride more fun. I also like decorating my bike around the holidays and you'd be surprised how long wrapping paper, bows, and tinsel stay on a bike! We'll meet at 3pm at 718 Cyclery in Gowanus, where you can warm up, use the bathroom, get a tune-up, buy a light, etc. :) Wheels down at 3:15pm. We'll get to Dyker Heights while there is still light out then we'll see the lights in all their glory after sunset. We'll stop for coffee, hot cocoa, and snacks afterward (or as needed, depending on the weather). The ride is about 6 miles each way and is mostly flat, aside from the hill in Prospect Park on the ride home. The event should end around 6pm and folks can split directly from there, take the train, or ride back to north Brooklyn with Cassandra.

What we're about

What's better than biking around NYC, exploring new areas, and eating great food? Nothing, right? Then join us for some fun rides and tasty eats in the outer reaches of the five boroughs and beyond! We will ride to food festivals, film festivals, beaches, parks, cultural events, street parties, and all things food- and bike-related.

This group is open for anyone to post a ride! All you need is a destination (somewhere that has interesting/exceptional food) and a route. Then just fill out the "Let's..." form at the top of the page with as much detail as you can. If you have questions or need help planning, please contact me (http://www.meetup.com/nyc-bike-food/message/?recipientId=128914).

**Please note that most these rides will take place in New York City streets, in and among car traffic so group members are expected to be comfortable riding a bike on and through high-traffic streets.
