What we're about

What's better than biking around NYC, exploring new areas, and eating great food? Nothing, right? Then join us for some fun rides and tasty eats in the outer reaches of the five boroughs and beyond! We will ride to food festivals, film festivals, beaches, parks, cultural events, street parties, and all things food- and bike-related.

This group is open for anyone to post a ride! All you need is a destination (somewhere that has interesting/exceptional food) and a route. Then just fill out the "Let's..." form at the top of the page with as much detail as you can. If you have questions or need help planning, please contact me (http://www.meetup.com/nyc-bike-food/message/?recipientId=128914).

**Please note that most these rides will take place in New York City streets, in and among car traffic so group members are expected to be comfortable riding a bike on and through high-traffic streets.

Brooklyn Bike Jumble - bicycle flea market

Old Stone House of Brooklyn

Fulfill all your cycling needs for the fall! Get yourself a new or used bike, accessories, clothing, collectibles, artwork, overstocks, and bargains galore at the 9th annual Brooklyn Bike Jumble! The New York Bike Jumble is New York City's only bicycle flea market. Vendors come from all over the east coast to sell new and used bikes, new and used bicycle accessories, and anything else bicycle-related. Used bikes run the gamut from $50 'beater' bikes to pricey historic collectible bikes. Attendees also have the rare opportunity to test ride bikes before buying! Times up! and Recycle a Bike and other bicycle non-profits will be there to help you test ride bikes before you buy! No bait and switch! No Craigslist sketchiness! There are always overstocks, closeouts and once-in-a-lifetime deals on bicycles at the Jumble. It's internet prices without internet shadiness! Bring a big bag to carry goodies home in, and some cash to grab food nearby. The jumble runs from 10am-4pm so you can certainly make your way there later in the day but people wait months for this event so the best pickings are right when it opens at 10am! Want more info? Check out this website: http://www.nybikejumble.com/ I usually lead a ride to the event but it's too soon to know where I'll be in the world (assuming travel is safe).
