The Connection Experiment NYC August 26 [Online]
Details
We are hosting an evening of real conversation. The kind that reminds you of who you really are, but rarely gets asked anymore.
We ran our first online session last Saturday. Nearly 100 people signed up, and most of the room stayed past the official end just to keep talking. One attendee described it as "very easy to turn a stranger into a friend." Another said they signed up mostly to pass the time, and left having learned something.
What to Expect 🪑
You'll spend 1 hour with a small group in paired video conversations. Here's how it works:
- You'll be matched into breakout pairs with 3-4 different people over the session 🔄
- Each pair gets ~12 minutes and a thoughtful question to explore together ðŸ’
- You'll both ask AND answer, equal time, full attention 👂
- Camera on or off, your choice — full presence either way
- You will get the question list right before the event starts. Start anywhere, skip anything that doesn't feel right.
Why We're Gathering 🌱
In a world where we're more "connected" than ever, genuine conversation has become surprisingly rare. This isn't about networking, professional development, or problem-solving. It's about something simpler and more nourishing: the experience of truly listening and being heard.
This is a free preview of a longer in-person event we're running in NYC at the end of the month. Try it, tell us what you think, and if it resonates, we'd love to have you join us in person.
