Man Ray: When Objects Dream — Met Museum Visit
Details
This group’s 2026 revival event takes us to The Metropolitan Museum of Art to visit Man Ray: When Objects Dream. The exhibition closes on February 1, 2026, so this is a good opportunity to see it before it leaves.
Please RSVP if you plan to attend, and if your plans change, update your RSVP so I know whether to expect you at the pre-meet.
About the Exhibit:
Man Ray: When Objects Dream focuses on the work of American artist Man Ray (1890–1976), whose experiments helped redefine photography and modern art. The exhibition centers on his rayographs—images made without a camera by placing objects directly on light-sensitive paper—transforming everyday items into abstract, dreamlike compositions.
Alongside the rayographs, the exhibition includes photographs, films, paintings, and objects from the 1910s and 1920s, showing how Man Ray blurred the boundaries between photography, art, and film during the early modernist period. The show brings together works from The Met and international lenders and offers a focused look at one of Man Ray’s most influential ideas.
