Maps and Geography with d3-geo with Michael Garrigan

Hi d3.js meetup members,
We are excited to announce our November meetup!

Talk Description:
Visualizing data in the form of geography is a terrific way to engage our clients and hold their attention. So we will look at how d3 handles transforming latitude and longitude into pixels.

Items to be covered:
GeoJSON, projections, shape generation with geoPath and Shapefiles.
A comparison of using svg and canvas.
How to attach event listeners to our maps?
And how I like to incorporate d3-geo into React components.

Bio:
I am a lifelong artisan who is currently working as a cheesemaker. I love programming and data visualization. I have owned two small businesses. In the past I have engaged in bonsai training, stained glass art, caning/rushing, hydroponic greenhouse operations and watercolor painting.
