Join us for a special edition of the NYC DJ Meetup at 343 Labs featuring guest artist Michael (Mashrik, IG @mashrikmusic) — NYC touring DJ/producer and founder of Kuna, one of NYC’s standout underground party brands.

This meetup will feature a live interview-style conversation focused on the realities of building a career in music. Topics will include getting gigs, growing as an artist, balancing DJing and production, building community through events, navigating the business side of the industry, and what it truly takes to sustain a career in electronic music.

The conversation will be followed by audience Q&A and open networking with fellow DJs, producers, and electronic music enthusiasts in NYC.
Whether you’re just getting started or already active in the scene, this is an opportunity to connect with the community and gain insight from artists actively working in the industry.

Beirut's blend of Western and Arabic music styles has established it as a global cultural hub. Michael, known as “Mashrik,” moved from Lebanon to the U.S. in 2015. He began music theory studies at the age of 12, mastering electric guitar and flute. Influenced by electronic music and inspired by New York City's diverse cultural scene, he became a DJ/Music Producer, infusing his work with his Middle Eastern heritage.
He currently is the Music Director of Brooklyn’s new hottest venue called Unveiled, where he leads all the talent buying and promoter event partnerships.
Anticipate Mashrik’s sound to be distinct and unconventional, incorporating world music elements in his performances. His music is characterized by its melodic richness, groovy rhythms, and energetic beats, creating a vibrant and engaging dancing and listening experience.
In his performances, he has shared stages with acclaimed artists like Adana Twins, Âme, Andhim, Armen Miran, Bedouin, Blond:ish, Carlita, Damian Lazarus, Davi, David Hohme, Diplo, DJ Tennis, Facundo Mohrr, Ian Blomqvist, Lemurian, Maga, Mandrake, Mira, Nick Warren, Oliver Koletzki, Pablo Fierro, Roy Rosenfeld, Sainte Vie, Sebastien Léger, Stavroz, The Soul Brothers, Who Made Who, Yokoo, and many others.
His international presence has been felt in countries such as Argentina, Bali, Brazil, Bolivia, Canada, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dubai, Egypt, El Salvador, France, Greece, Guatemala, Italy, Lebanon, Mexico, Portugal, Saint Martin, Spain, Turkey, and more.
Mashrik is constantly touring, frequently performing in different cities worldwide and at various international festivals.
In January 2019, Mashrik founded a monthly event series in NYC called Kuná, which consistently sold out. He created the brand from ground up by sourcing international DJs/music producers and defining the sound of Kuná. The fanbase quickly grew to an average attendance of 650 people per event with a lot of partnerships that were formed around the globe. It is one of many projects related to music that Michael has started, which strengthens his foothold in the music industry.
