MONTHLY FURRY/BRONY MEET-UP!

The London Furs have been meeting every month for years: 100+ furries gather at a friendly bar/restaurant with outdoor space to eat, drink and even suit up—and there’s no reason we New Yorkers furries and bronies can’t do the same!

“Coenties Slip” is a plaza in downtown Manhattan away from the tourists, with public seating and a bunch of reasonably priced restaurants nearby. (If this becomes a regular thing, one of the restaurants would welcome our business—and maybe allow us to suit up inside!)

Let’s get this started! I’m inviting all furries and bronies to join me there on Saturday, August 12 at 1:00pm! (Rain date Sunday August 13.) Wear something furry or brony! (I’ll be wearing my bunny tail!) I’ll provide a starter pizza but bring snax, drinx, art, etc.—anything you’d like to share!

The idea is to make this a regular, “second Saturday of the month” get-together! barring unforeseen circumstances, I’ll be there on September 9th and October 14th; when the weather turns cold we can meet inside that friendly restaurant. In the meantime, here’s how to get there:

From the Bowling Green 4 & 5 subway station:
- From the downtown platform take the center-of-the-platform stairs & exit from the lower level. (The uptown platform exits directly onto the street.)
- Walk away from Battery Park & past the American Indian Museum on your right
- Make a right turn onto the “Broadway” spur (actually Whitehall Street)
- Pass Stone Street and make the next left onto Bridge Street
- Cross Broad Street and walk alongside the office tower. (You are now on Pearl Street by the way; “Fraunces Tavern” and small stores will be on your right.)
- When you reach the plaza at the end of the building…you’re there!

From the Whitehall Street/South Ferry 1, R & W subway station:
- The station has two exits: from the Staten Island Ferry exit:

• when you surface turn your back on the ferry terminal;
• cross the street & head up Whitehall Street;
• make the first right onto Pearl Street; cross Broad Street and walk alongside the office tower until you reach the plaza.

- The Stone/Whitehall Street exit at the other end of the station will take you onto Whitehall Street. Take Bridge Street, cross Broad Street and walk alongside the office tower as above.
