Thursday, September 16 - 12 Noon
A talk with Rick Landman who lost 17 family members in the Holocaust... but not his love for Germany. He recently became a German citizen, organized a group of Jewish German-Americans to march in the upcoming Steuben Parade, and discusses his life and choices at this "Transatlantic Lunch Talk" sponsored by the DAAD (German Academic Exchange Program).

Legendary US photographer Leonard Sussman is best known for his black&white work. But he found color to be more appropriate on a trip to Berlin where he found cityscapes between gentle lyricism and gritty reality.

Both Grand Marshals of this year?s Parade, the legendary "Dr. Ruth" Westheimer and Dr. Michael M?ller, CEO of the Hofbr?uhaus in Munich, will attend as will many VIP from the German-American community, including politics, diplomacy, culture, business and the clubs. Tickets are still available and include: Cocktail Hour, Five Course Dinner, Music by "The Jimmy Sturr Orchestra" and famous Austrian soprano Eva Lind, Dancing until Midnight, Lots of Fun and Entertainment, and a Gift Bag.

This year?s Steuben Parade brings you Grand Marshals "Dr. Ruth" and Dr. Michael M?ller of the famous Hofbr?uhaus, thousands of marchers in music and dance groups, masked and costumed carneval folk, people wearing Tracht from all over Germany, marksmen and many more... enjoy the Parade from anywhere on Fifth Avenue betweek 67th and 86th Street for free, or from a Bleacher Seat at Fifth Avenue and 78th Street for $10 (Tickets available right there starting at 11 AM). Following the Steuben Parade is
Tickets have been going fast for this greatest Oktoberfest in New York City right at the Summer Stage area of Central Park (enter from East 72nd St). Only a few hundred tickets will be available right at the gate starting at 1 PM. German beer and food, entertainment by groups from Germany, Austria and the US, and a special appearance by singer "Melina" will lead up to a Highlight: the 2nd Annual US Championship in Masskrugstemmen sponsored by Hofbr?u beer. Strong men from all over the country will compete in this mug holding contest to win a trip to the Hofbr?uhaus in Munich.
