"The Aeneid" books 7 - 12 by Virgil
Details
Virgil's Aeneid was meant to be the founding epic of Rome. It starts with the Aeneid fleeing Troy with his father. There are many criticisms one could levy at this work---it's imperial propaganda, Greek appropriation, etc. However, many generations have considered it a masterpiece and in the least it is very widely referenced, and perhaps worth knowing just for that reason.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Usually we read one book per month, but this event is for the second half of the Aeneid (books 7 - 12).
It's an open discussion, although we'll have a few questions prepared to keep the conversation going, which I'll try to post in the comments a week before we meet.
We'll be meeting on a Zoom:

IMPORTANT: The passcode for the Zoom call is "classics".
To keep the group size small, there are a limited number of spots available. Please only RSVP if you intend to join.
