Circular City Week NY is Now Virtual

The health and safety of partners, attendees, event hosts and staff is of utmost importance to Circular City Week NY 2020 and our hosts... so many events will now be virtual:

Food's journey from nutrient to sustenance begins in the ground or greenhouse, then it makes its way to the market, kitchen or the factory, eventually landing on your plate. After the meal comes another journey, this time to the waste processor or material recovery facility (MRF).

All these steps consume water and energy resources, and generate many waste products as well as air and water pollution.

This program will help identify ways to close these gaps and overcome obstacles to turning “waste” back into food.

Modern life is defined by buildings and places. The built environment is an expression of humanity’s needs, values and aspirations.

Achieving circularity in a new construction presents very large challenges, and retrofitting older buildings and whole districts to become more circular are ever more complex.

This program will highlight circular and sustainable practices within cities, including Dutch and American examples, and identify ways to create more synergy between the various entities and everyday citizens.
