Food's journey from nutrient to sustenance begins in the ground or greenhouse, then it makes its way to the market, kitchen or the factory, eventually landing on your plate. After the meal comes another journey, this time to the waste processor or material recovery facility (MRF).
All these steps consume water and energy resources, and generate many waste products as well as air and water pollution.
This program will help identify ways to close these gaps and overcome obstacles to turning “waste” back into food.
