A practical 30-minute, free mini-workshop focused on helping ADHD minds get started when they feel stuck.

In Dr. Thomas E. Brown’s model of ADHD executive functioning, Activation is one of six key executive-function clusters and includes challenges with organizing, prioritizing, and getting started on tasks.

For many ADHD minds, knowing what needs to be done isn’t the problem. The challenge is activating: turning intention into action, particularly when a task feels boring, overwhelming, unclear, or emotionally uncomfortable.

Repeated difficulty getting started can also create an emotional layer around activation, including frustration, guilt, shame, and negative self-talk.
In this session, we’ll explore both sides of the challenge:

  • Practical ADHD-friendly tools for reducing friction, organizing and prioritizing tasks, and making it easier to get started
  • Strategies for managing the emotions that can surface when activation is difficult, particularly frustration and shame

The session draws from Dr. Brown’s executive-function model, ADHD coaching principles, and performance psychology, with a focus on practical implementation rather than theory.

You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of why activation can be difficult for ADHD minds, along with simple tools and strategies you can begin experimenting with immediately.

This is a structured educational coaching workshop, not therapy or clinical treatment.
