Whether an absolute beginner looking for new ways to stay fit, or competitors getting ready for the Gay Games! No previous training or knowledge necessary.
What should I wear/bring?
TRAVEL LIGHTLY: just one bag recommended, light high-protein snacks & plenty hydration for one night stay. Lodging available for separate fee, day trippers welcome to train until last ferry which leaves island 11pm SHARP to return to NYC trains. Wrestling singlet, shorts, underwear/activewear attire, form fitting undergarments or jockstraps are encouraged and must be worn UNDERNEATH shorts and shirts out of lycra, polyester or spandex preferred over cotton or ANY BEACH SWIMWEAR is fine.
Full set of rules, warm up and safety will be given by instructors in wrestling technique. How to do each move safely and with care whether the intention is to train, improve, or be affectionate, should never be to cause harm. Above all else to have fun with the movement.
Techniques in throws and takedowns for those ready to take it to the next level. Neutral positions, par terre position, top & bottom and how to score points. Absolute beginners, Intermediate to Advanced, there is space for EVERYONE!
