Forest Hills Gardens- Day After Halloween -12 Limit - RSVP's Are Closed!
Details
Please actually read the description of the event extra carefully BEFORE you RSVP.
This event is NOT going to be announced to all members.
This event will be shorter than usual and will be strictly limited in size to around 10 members. No guests please. Unfortunately, we will not add any first timers to this event.
I consider this a members appreciation event. I want to primarily reward those members who have attended at least one event and hopefully more in the past 6-12 months with very few cancellations. There will be few exceptions to this criteria. Preference will be given to newer members whenever possible who meet the above criteria.
This is a members appreciation event. No money will be accepted on this event. Last year on the majority of events we conducted, no money was accepted.
As always, the waitlist for this group does NOT operate in the conventional way. Those on the waitlist will NOT be moved automatically to the going list when a space becomes available.
Forest Hills Gardens is a beautiful private planned community that looks a lot like it did when it was first designed in 1909. Halloween is a big deal in the gardens and thousands of people flock there each year. In other words, it's a madhouse especially on one street. We will avoid that by visiting the day after.
It will be a special treat because there should still be many really interesting Halloween displays still up in the neighborhood on the day after Halloween.
I have led two tours of Forest Hills Gardens for the Guides Association of New York City. This event will be much better.
The event should last about 2 1/2 hours or so and if people want, they can eat in the neighborhood afterwards or do whatever they wish. I live nearby in the poorer part of Forest Hills.
It will be easy to get to the meeting location by public transportation and the Long Island Railroad.
AS ALWAYS, PLEASE POST NO COMMENTS/QUESTIONS PRE-EVENT.
Hope you can make it.
