I like to think all the events we do are fun and interesting.

Initial priority will be given to those members who have attended at least one event and hopefully more in the last 12 months with few cancellations.

We are also looking to add a number of First Timers to this event. However, you actually need to read the description of the event carefully. We are not asking for that much. First Timers-Don't Rush It or you will end up NOT going.

When you RSVP it means you PLAN to go, it does NOT mean you have to go. I just ask that all attendees be considerate with respect to the RSVP process.

The wait list for this group does NOT operate in a conventional way. Those on the wait list will NOT be moved to the going list automatically.
I do NOT believe that the Meetup waitlist works well for a number of reasons.

Meetup charges an Organizer like me to run the group-it's not a fortune- but the amount was raised substantially and I spend much time and effort planning and preparing for an event. You can contribute whatever you want at the BEGINNING of an event IN CASH. (On the majority of events, I will NOT accept any monetary contributions).

Join us on a FUN and interesting but relatively fast paced hiking tour of around 5-6 miles as we explore Vinegar Hill, Dumbo and Brooklyn Bridge Park. Vinegar Hill is a small, historic, little known area with some very interesting sites. DUMBO is undergoing massive changes as old factories and warehouses are being transformed right before your eyes. We will be briefly indoors on two occasions. There are always surprises along the way-hopefully a big one at the beginning of the event!

You can leave any time.

On a number of occasions, before we travel thru scenic Brooklyn Bridge Park, we will stop very briefly a number of times to talk about what we observe. (In other words, I talk and you listen or make believe you are listening.) There should be great waterfront views. I have done a modified version of this event for the GUIDES ASSOCIATION OF NEW YORK CITY (GANYC). THIS EVENT WILL BE EVEN BETTER. Photo was taken by Thomas. AGAIN, I am going to request that everyone who attends this event make a monetary contribution but the amount of that donation is entirely up to you. I am going to ask that people not post any comments or questions prior to the event. You have more than enough information to do this once you get the meeting details. No offense, but I don’t need to know-and probably neither does anyone else- what you are doing that day if you can’t make it or what you think the weather will be. AFTER the event, post as many comments and photos as you like. PLEASE RESPECT MY WISHES ON THIS.

IF THE WEATHER FORECAST IS REALLY BAD I WILL POST A CANCELLATION NOTICE EARLY ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT. I may postpone this event if forecast shows that we will be walking in BELOW freezing temperatures for most of the event.

We will start and finish not too far from a subway stop. We plan to end before 5:00 p.m.
