CHELSEA ART GALLERY HOP-LIMITED SPACE- Short Notice! Members Appreciation Event

This event is especially good in cold weather. It does NOT appear it will be as cold this coming Saturday as last one.

There will be limited space on this event.

ONLY RSVP AFTER YOU HAVE READ THE DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT CAREFULLY ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE NEVER ATTENDED AN EVENT BEFORE WITH THIS GROUP. I CONSIDER THIS A MEMBERS APPRECIATION EVENT. OF ALL THE EVENTS WE DO, I PROBABLY HAVE THE MOST FUN ON A GALLERY HOP.

F YOU HAVE NEVER ATTENDED AN EVENT WITH THIS GROUP, I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP AND COOPERATION. THIS WILL HELP ME COMMUNICATE MORE EFFECTIVELY WITH THOSE WHO RSVP. SOMETIMES MEETUP MESSAGES DO NOT GET DELIVERED OR ARE NOT READ FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS. IF YOU CAN'T ABIDE BY THIS SIMPLE REQUEST, YOU ARE GOING TO END UP ON THE NOT GOING LIST. If you think this request is just too much for you to bear, please let me know.

We are NOT interested in members who join the group to attend one specific event. This is a hiking/tour group but we happen to do gallery hops as well.

NO GUESTS UNLESS YOU HAVE ATTENDED AN EVENT BEORE WITH THIS GROUP. If you have attended an event in the past let me know if you want to bring a guest.

IF APPLICABLE, ALWAYS JOIN THE WAIT LIST WITH LOW PRIORITY WHICH IS FREE. IF THERE IS A WAITLIST, IT APPEARS MEETUP WILL ASK YOU IF YOU WANT TO JOIN MEETUP + BUT IN SMALLER LETTERS AT THE TOP OF THE PAGE YOU CAN CLICK CONTINUE WITH THE FREE PLAN. There is NEVER a need to pay extra to use Meetup's High Priority wait list classification for this group.

THIS GROUP DOES NOT USE THE WAITLIST IN A CONVENTIONAL WAY.THOSE ON THE WAITLIST WILL NOT BE MOVED TO THE GOING LIST AUTOMATICALLY. I do NOT believe that the Meetup waitlist works well for a number of reasons. The waitlist will start at one for this event.

OVER MANY YEARS I HAVE LED NUMEROUS ART GALLERY HOPS IN CHELSEA AND OTHER NEIGHBORHOODS. THEY ARE ALWAYS FAST PACED, A LOT OF FUN AND ARE A BIT INSANE.

WE WILL SEE DIFFERENT EXHIBITIONS THAN THE ONES WE SAW BACK IN DECEMBER.

We are going to visit many, many, many art galleries and will not spend much time in any of them. If your attention span is similar to that of a fruit fly (and there was one flying around in my apartment a few years ago), this event will be especially appealing to you. Of course, if you see a gallery you like, you can always come back on your own. And that's why we do this. (Photo is a painting by Vestie Davis of Coney Island in 1968 that I own.)

I am going to ask that people NOT post any comments or questions prior to the event. You have more than enough information to do this once you get the meeting details. No offense, but I don’t need to know-and probably neither does anyone else- what you are doing that day if you can’t make it or what you think the weather will be. AFTER the event, post as many comments and photos as you like. PLEASE RESPECT MY WISHES ON THIS.

If the weather forecast is really bad, See Accuweather like I do, I will post a notice on the day of the event by 7:00 A.M. If there is no notice, we go.

We will finish BEFORE 5:00 p.m. near West 34th Street, Hudson Yards and Penn Station. Of course you can leave any time.
