I have led two tours of Forest Hills Gardens for the Guides Association of New York City. This event will be much better.

This event is most likely NOT going to be announced to all members.

This event will be strictly limited in size to around 20 members or so. No guests please. Unfortunately, at this time, it is unlikely we will add any first timers to this event.

I consider this a members appreciation event. We will NOT accept any monetary contributions on this one. I want to primarily reward those members who have supported this group in the recent past by attending at least one event and hopefully more with few cancellations. As always, the waitlist for this group does NOT operate in the conventional way-especially for this event. Those on the waitlist will NOT be moved automatically to the going list when a space becomes available.

Forest Hills Gardens is a beautiful private planned community that looks a lot like it did when it was first designed in 1909. Halloween is a BIG deal in the gardens and thousands of people flock there each year. In other words, it's a madhouse especially on one street. We will avoid that by visiting in the morning.

It will be a special treat because there will be many really interesting Halloween displays in the Gardens on Halloween.

The event should last about 3 hours or so and if people want, they can eat in the neighborhood afterwards or do whatever they wish.

There may be an opportunity to view one no longer active member's unique art collection. You probably won't see a better collection of NYC street scenes anywhere. Unfortunately, this member, who will remain anonymous, has many rules pertaining to the visit. To say that this member is a high maintenance individual is an understatement! (And hopefully, they don't read this!)

It will be easy to get to the meeting location by public transportation and the Long Island Railroad.
