For the old-timers at the NYCJMH, remember our super fun pre-pandemic Douglass jams in Brooklyn? Well, we're back at it, this time on the Upper West Side!

The event will be held in a hideaway speakeasy located in the back of Mochi Dolci, a sweet shop specializing in mochi delectables.

Step through the phone booth at the back of the shop, and you'll be whisked away to a mood-lit cocktail bar where our music will ignite the scene and the senses.

Invite your friends and family (no charge) for a delightful atmosphere of live jazz, watching you perform while enjoying food and drinks. There's no audience better than our nearest and dearest, so let's round 'em up and fill up the room (and help us get invited back again)!

Like our previous public jams (and regular jams), we'll play with predetermined tunes. This way, everyone comes prepared and is in zero danger of being caught off guard with a tune they don't know being called on the spot. See the setlist below.

The owner of the space was gracious to let us stay longer if we want, so if y'all want to play after we exhaust our setlist, we can call more tunes on the spot.

BACKLINE: PA system, 1 wireless mic, 2 guitar amps, bass amp, drums, Yamaha P-255 stage piano (88-key fully weighted and graded)

There is a 6 PLAYER LIMIT per tune as follows:
• Rhythm Section: 1 keyboard, 1 guitar, 1 bass, 1 drums
• NO LIMIT for lead instruments up to the 6-player limit

TO PLAY: LEAVE YOUR INSTRUMENT AND TUNES SELECTIONS IN THE COMMENTS SECTION BELOW. LIMIT THREE TUNES FOR NOW – YOU CAN HAVE MORE IF WE HAVE TIME/SPACE. There's no way to automate the sign-ups, so I need to update the list manually. First come, first served.

TO ATTEND ONLY (and not play) – FREE – JUST SHOW UP! We need an audience to fill the room so we'll be invited again for future jams. Bring friends! This is a great opportunity for members who haven't had the chance to play with the group to meet other members.

IMPORTANT: TO AVOID DUPLICATE SIGN-UPS, PLEASE REVIEW THE COMMENTS SECTION FIRST TO MAKE SURE YOUR INSTRUMENT AND TUNES SPOTS AREN'T ALREADY TAKEN. Don't rely on the setlist info listed below, as it may not be updated in real-time.

Once you know who you're playing with, feel free to communicate how you might want to perform together, like intros, tempo, style, trades, endings, comping between piano & guitar, etc.

AT THE JAM: The setlist will be performed in the EXACT ORDER as listed below. Time yourself so that you're present for your turn to avoid extra transition time.

As a community, it's also good etiquette for you to stay and support the other players, so please consider staying for the whole jam, or as long as your schedule allows.
