Exploring Beacon, NY
Details
Join us on our last “Upstate” Meetup of the season.
The fall is over and winter is settling in but we are still looking for photographic opportunities.
Once again we’ll meet by the
info booth and clock at Grand Central Station
Date: Saturday November 22nd
Time: 9:30 am for a 9:56 am train on the Hudson Line
(Poughkeepsie Train, 8 stops, 1 hour 32 minutes)
Fare, off peak one way: $17.75 . Senior: $12.00
We arrive in Beacon at 11:28 am and make our way to Main Street.
Beacon is a small town with a great “all American” Main Street to explore. Old brick buildings, a classic and fun red 1950s style diner, interesting shop windows, a small waterfall and other photogenic sights await us. There’s a rest and a great coffee shop at the far end of Main Street to warm us up for the walk back and a fun brewery for a beverage and snack before heading back to the train.
The end time of this event is estimated and may change but I expect we will be back in NYC around 7:30 pm.
This will be a good healthy walk with cool opportunities for lots of creativity.
As always all cameras including cellphones are welcome as are all folks of all skill levels.
I look forward to seeing you and perhaps a guest or two at this event.

Don't forget your charged batteries and empty memory cards.
Tripods are not needed on this photo-walk. All purpose wider lenses are suggested but bring a selection if you wish of course.
Please be on time! The NYC Subway System is a hellscape of unimaginable delays that will wreak havoc on your mind, body, schedule, and soul. Plan your trip with some extra time! You will not want to miss the train.
Details of this event may be added or changed at any time, so please check in periodically on this page. Cellular phone numbers are private and will not be provided. If you have questions, please leave them in the comments below before the event begins.
