An evening with Sunset and Full “Snow” Moon on the Manhattan Bridge

Let's start the weekend with an evening shoot on the bridge enjoying the sunset and the night of the full “Snow” moon.

We will meet on Saturday January 31st at 3:15 pm in front of the old bank on the corner of the intersection of The Bowery and Canal street.

Golden Hour 4:32 pm Sunset at 5:12 pm
The full moon rises early at 3:45 so we should see it rise above Queens soon after that.
It should rise high in the sky possibly during sunset weather permitting.

Sunset views should include the Harbor, East River, the Brooklyn Bridge and Lower Manhattan. Plus there are great views over the rooftops of Chinatown.

Any and all cameras from professional models to cell phones are welcome at our events. Folks at all levels of expertise are also welcome. Bring whatever gear you wish to use. Don’t forget your charged batteries and empty memory cards. If your cameras have been sitting unused it is recommended that you clean the lenses and sensor of any collected dust. Tripods are not much use due to the train and car vibrations on the bridge.

The last time I tried this with Meetup it started snowing while we met at the Bank and by the time we got out onto the bridge we were enjoying a full blizzard! Lets keep fingers crossed for a beautiful sunset.

Please be on time!!!! Give yourselves the extra time to travel if possible. If you plan on driving, please use Google Maps to find the nearest parking garages before hand. Dress appropriately for the weather and please wear sensible walking shoes. We suggest you also bring water to drink.

We will not be constantly checking our phones for messages once the meetup begins. Please do not send private meetup messages. Leave all your questions and comments on this event page before the meetup begins.
