PLAN
After stepping off the train platform we'll begin our photo walk south along So. Astor St., & then curve around to 50 So. Buckout St.
Here we'll find an historic three-story brick building known as the Trent Building or historically the Cosmopolitan Building. Designed by renowned architect Stanford White in 1895–1896, it originally served as the headquarters for Cosmopolitan Magazine.

Following, we'll walk through a waterfront residential complex south to W. Clinton St. where we'll turn left & had up for a street-side view of the Armour-Stiner Octagon House. This house was built in 1860 by financier Paul J. Armour. In the 1870's tea importer, Joseph Stiner, added the dome & enlarged the house after purchasing it.

After capturing a few street-side photos here, we'll head up to the famous Old Croton Aqueduct (OCA). This Aqueduct which begins up in the town of Croton, carried NYC's water supply for many years starting in the 1800's into the 1950's.

A little down the road we'll leave the Aqueduct trail when we arrive at Main St. in Irvington with it's many shops & great views of the Hudson River, especially when looking West, down Main St.

After we procede to the bottom of the hill we'll be back by the train station. At this intersection of Main St. & So. Astor St is the Lord & Burnham Building. Built in 1881 as Lord's Horticultural Works, it was repurposed in the late 1990s into the "Burnham Building," now hosting residential units and the Irvington Public Library.

Here we'll cross over the Metro North tracks & lastly head down to what I feel is Irvington's gem: Scenic Hudson Park. I've spent many days here, including snowy ones, photographing the River, the sky, & the distant glimpse of the NYC skyline.

This walk will be limited in attendance, but don't worry if you miss it. I will gladly meet photographers soon again who would like to come up to Irvington NY & do the photo walk on another date.
