Paint & Chill at Riverside Park (Cherry Blossom Edition)

Hello NYC artists, can't believe it's 2025 already, and spring is upon us! As I was walking along Riverside Drive, I noticed a mix of beautiful cherry blossoms and community gardens - the perfect inspiration for some spring-themes art.

Bring your own materials, whatever media you are comfortable with. I recommend something fast and easy to use - watercolor, acrylics, pencils, ink or even a digital painting tool (e.g. iPad and digital pen). It doesn't matter if you're an expert or totally new to drawing/painting, this group is for everyone who just wants to be outside and be creative! I also recommend bringing some water and snacks for yourself, and perhaps a blanket or something to sit on.

We will meet right at the steps of the Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument at the corner of 89th and Riverside Drive - please try to be on time so you can meet others and pick a nice spot to paint! I’ll be holding a basket of white hydrangea so that you can recognize me, I'll wait for a max of 10-15 mins. Please check back here the day before the event as I might make changes based on the weather.

We might optionally go for lunch at a local spot afterwards, feel free to stick around for that!

INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO GET THERE:

Best way to get there is to take a subway to either 86th St (1 subway) or 96th St (2/3 subway) and walk to the location, it should take around 10 minutes. You could also take the C/B line and get off at 86th St, but it will take around 15-20 minutes to walk over to Riverside Park from there.
