TOPIC:
Wellness and mental health have become increasingly important over the last years. Whether the lockdown and COVID were triggers or catalysts for an overdue examination of our life and business practices is not quite clear … yet nearly irrelevant. Statists suggest that 1 out of 10 people will experience some mental illness throughout their life. The fact of the matter is that Wellness Rooms and gym memberships are not enough. We are in the midst of a cultural paradigm shift of our work/life balance. Or should we say life/work balance?

The promise of technology is to create everything faster. The professionals creating faster technology are using faster technology … at some point the expectations are exponential. Please join our speakers Mirra Maheden, Håvard Vasshaug, and James Vandezande as they engage with the audience to evaluate where we as design and technology professionals are going. The panel will take a very personal look at ourselves and share our stories: the successes and the failures … or what some might perceive as failures; our strengths and weaknesses … or what some might perceive as weaknesses.

Learning objectives:

  • Balancing yourself: how to cope with the balance between helping others and making the group more efficient, and dealing with professional pressures.
  • Changing the perception of what was considered a "weakness" to that of "normal”.
  • Showing compassion, empathy and kindness will form better relationships.
  • Knowing your own limits and creating boundaries will help learn or lead into our strengths and adapt to your “weaknesses”.

PLACE:

Mirra Maheden

The construction industry is not for the faint of heart. However, Mirra Maheden excels in a unique little creative niche that recently, with the advancement of just the right technology, has become an essential part of the cold, hardcore, testosterone-driven, dog-eat-dog world of commercial construction.
If the Game of Thrones were about the kingdom of ConstructionLand, she would be a dragon, rare and magical and difficult to explain.
With an intuitive, individualized blend of software whispering and interpretive data wizardry, she can conjure up an actual replica of the building on a model-sized scale, so the contractors can readily see and thus remedy all the discrepancies before running into frustrating costly real-life roadblocks on the job.
