Class #3: Backward Ochos

In this class Followers and Leaders will learn “The Cross,” a frequently used step in tango that truly brings out the dance’s character. We will continue to work on pivoting, but this time as it relates to “Backward Ochos,” a graceful sequence of the woman as she turns around the man doing backward steps. The sequence is called “Ocho” because the woman walks in a formation that resembles a figure “8.” Topics include;

Walking (The Cross)
Pivoting
Backward Ochos

Next week, the final week of the series, you will learn:

Class 4: Walking (musicality), molinete.

NEW Four-Week SeriesLevel 2 – Tango Social Buenos Aires (https://www.meetup.com/nyc-tango-lover/pages/Level_2_%96_Tango_Social_Buenos_Aires/)(Level 1 or previous experience necessary.)

(This Monthly Cycle: April 3, 10, 17, 24)

In this program we will be exploring the social joys of Tango and focus our attention as it's danced in the dance halls of Buenos Aires. All our time will be spent on things to do when dancing socially and special attention will be given to simulating the experience of dancing in Buenos Aires.

Remember those smiley face stickers in school that made learning so much fun?!

Well to show you how much fun we want to have and how committed we are to making sure you learn everything you need to know, you will receive your very own "TANGO PASSPORT!"

On each page is a different element taught in class. Laura and I will go around and record your progress and how well you master each element in this "passport!" So you'll know exactly what you're learning, what you're great at and what you still need to practice.

Once you're passport is all filled up, you'll be ready to take what you know to Buenos Aires. So get your plane ticket, see you at Nino Bien!!! :)))
