A Day Trip to Fort Montgomery and Bear Mountain State Park

Let's take a day trip to Fort Montgomery State Historic Site for Twin Forts Day. This is a public event by the Fort Montgomery Battle Site Association and the 5th NY Regiment as they commemorate the 249th anniversary of the battle for Forts Montgomery and Clinton, bringing to life the people who lived here through military drill, camp life demonstrations, children’s activities and more! In addition we'll explore and take a hike at Bear Mountain State Park.

Getting there: 8:45AM Shortline bus out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal to Bear Mountain State Park dropping off at the Bear Mountain Inn. From the Inn, we'll walk about 25-minute to Fort Montgomery.

AGENDA: we'll explore Fort Montgomery. Then we'll head back to Bear Mountain State Park and do a hike there. Please note agenda is not written in stone so come with an open mind for adventure and whatever the day might bring.

RETURN BUS: 5:19PM bus picking up outside Bear Mountain Inn.
