Distance: 4 Miles up and back.
Time: 2-3 hours or more, depending on pace, photo breaks and lunch break.
*NOTE: Depending on the time and if everyone is up to it, we can do a loop hike (Please refer to East Hudson Trails - Trail Map 102).

GETTING THERE: 10:43 AM Metro-North Hudson Line to the Cold Spring station (Travel Time: 82 minutes).

Round-Trip Off-Peak Ticket: $29.00

We're going to meet at Grand Central Station by Track 29, no later than 10:25 AM and take the 10:43 AM Metro-North Hudson Line to the Cold Spring station (we'll reach Cold Spring around 12:05 PM) and walk north on Fair Street and Route 9D to the trailhead (Check out the trail map box for map). From the northern end of the parking area, we'll proceed north on the White-blazed Washburn Trail all the way up to the summit.
The climb to the summit provides excellent views of the surrounding highlands, the Hudson River, Constitution Marsh, and even the sky scrapers in New York City.

WHAT TO BRING: Hiking poles, lunch, snacks, 2 or more bottle of waters, portable phone charger, your camera, flashlight / headlamp, first aid kit and a day backpack to carry everything in.

WHAT TO WEAR: Hiking boots -or- very comfortable running/walking sneakers. Please dress according to the weather.

*MNR Train Return Trip Schedules from Cold Spring back to Grand Central: 4:06 PM, 4:18 PM, 5:16 PM, 6:18 PM, 7:22 PM, 8:20 PM, 9:16 PM, 10:16 PM -and- 11:20 PM.
