Details
WE WILL MEET IN THE LOBBY OF THE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF THE ANCIENT WORLD AT 15 E. 84TH ST.
Let's explore the Upper East Side, where we'll visit a free museum of ancient civilizations, currently showing Rodin's Egypt, featuring the renowned sculptor's collection of Egyptian artifacts plus his works inspired by Egypt. We will also view some of the swankiest art galleries in town, and possibly see some fabulous gilded age mansions from the late 1800s if time permits.
LATE LUNCH: We'll eat in the Met Museum cafeteria (pay what you wish admission for NY state residents), where you can bring your own food, though you may want to buy at least a drink as a courtesy.
TRANSPORTATION: 4,5,6 train to 86th St. Aand Leington Avenue, then walk west and south. Pleasee google MTA planned service changes for other weekend changes on your subway lines.
COST: $1 for me. At the Met, it's pay what you wish (as little as $1) for NYS residents and $30/$22 for adults/seniors.
