How Varnish & MongoDB Scale Business Insider

At Business Insider (http://www.businessinsider.com), we've been using MongoDB (http://www.mongodb.org) since the beginning and Varnish (https://www.varnish-cache.org) for almost two years now and together they have enabled us to scale to over 150m monthly pageviews using fewer than ten core production servers.

Business Insider CTO Pax Dickinson will present a talk on how Business Insider uses MongoDB and Varnish and leverages their features to make Business Insider responsive and scalable under the heavy traffic loads that a popular media site has to contend with.

Topics will include implementing Edge Side Includes, performing active purging by integrating Varnish into backend code, integrating Memcached with Varnish and MongoDB, and using MongoDB for scalable internal analytics.
