Female CEOs of AI Centered Companies

Details

We are pleased to present this event in collaboration with the Future Labs at NYU.

The Data Future Lab is an incubator program for early-stage companies developing Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Big Data technologies. It is part of the The NYU Tandon Future Labs (or “Future Labs”) programs, which launched in 2009 as a partnership between NYU and the City of New York to create NYC’s first business incubator. Today, in addition to the Data Future Lab, the NYU Future Labs includes the Digital Future Lab, an incubator for startups in AR/VR and digital media; the Urban Future Lab, NYC’s leading clean energy incubator; the AI Nexus Lab, an accelerator for early stage, research driven AI companies; and the Veterans’ Future Lab supporting veteran entrepreneurs.

As of Q3 2017, the Future Labs approach has yielded an over $1B graduate portfolio, with 14 acquisitions from 74 total graduate companies through a unique, company tailored program focused on self-sustainability. Our alumni include Bounce Exchange, CB Insights, Clarifai, Geometric Intelligence, Vettery, 7Park Data, Swyft Media, Spruce, Avanan, tapCommerce (acquired by Twitter), StyleSage, Edenworks, Coursehorse, and many others.

Agenda:

6:30pm – 7:00pm Food and refreshments

7:00pm – 7:20pm Michelle Bacharach, CEO of FINDMINE and Marlies Santos Deas, head of Data Science

7:20pm – 7:40pm Joy Tang, CEO of MARKABLE

7:40pm – 8:00pm Chaya Cooper, CEO of Click2Fit

8:00pm – 8:30pm Networking

Michelle Bacharach the CEO and Cofounder of FINDMINE, a retail technology that uses machine learning to scale the currently manual and tedious process of product curation. FINDMINE takes your product catalogue and merchandiser’s looks, runs them through our proprietary algorithms and combines them with user data to highlight your goods in each shopper’s perfect outfit, on your site and in your ads, emails, and stores. The company works with billion-dollar brands, womenswear retailers, and other high-fashion leaders, increasing conversion and average order values by up to 100% and lifting incremental revenue by 6% for their customers. Marlies Santos Deas is FINDMINE's resident Data Scientist. She received a Masters in Data Science from Columbia University, prior to which she was one of the first software engineers to work on IBM Watson.

Joy Tang is a former high frequency algorithmic trader turned computer vision entrepreneur. She left a seven figure salary in high frequency trading to create Markable, the leader in fashion image recognition. Originally from China, Joy attended MIT on a full scholarship, with majors in math and economics. She also holds a Gold Medal in Math Olympics in China and as a teen was the anchor of a Chinese television program. She understood how to build algorithms from her work in high frequency trading, and upon noticing a huge gap in the market between e-commerce and digital content, she was inspired to develop the AI technology to make all actors' and actresses' wardrobes immediately shoppable

Chaya Cooper is the Chief Product Officer and Founder of Click2Fit (www.click2fit.com (http://www.click2fit.com/)), which is creating the first automated and scalable expert recommendation system enabling retailers to quickly and accurately recommend clothing you'll love, that flatters and fits. Chaya realized that many of the industry’s inefficiencies and consumers’ pain points could be addressed by making it easier for shoppers to find the needle in the haystack, and when she kept running up against the Catch-22 of being unable to build AI software this complex without the funding to hire a tech team, she started learning everything she needed to know in order to develop Click2Fit’s software and build it herself – from artificial intelligence, cognitive neuroscience and physics, to designing the architecture, creating the algorithms, and developing the software.

Chaya is a two-time fashion tech entrepreneur and long-time strategy and product development consultant turned full stack developer. She serves as an adviser and mentor to several female founders and women in tech through Dreamers // Doers and Women Who Tech, and has been featured on CNBC’s “Power Lunch” and in AlleyWatch’s “Women in NYC Tech”.
