Dear members,
Governors Island is a great place to get away from the buzz of the city while still enjoying its magnificent skyline! If you have ever wondered what secrets are hidden behind the closed doors of Governors Island’s forts and Greek Revival-style apartment buildings, join us on this guided tour of its past, present, and future.
Our guide will be Judy Mann, a member and volunteer of the Friends of Governors Island non-profit organization.
The tour should last about 2 hours. Feel free to stay and enjoy the island after the tour, or head back at your leisure.
Where to meet
Meet us in front of the Batter Maritime Building at 12:30pm. From there we will buy our tickets and take the 01:00pm ferry to Governors Island. Estimated travel time: 8-10 mins. Ferries only travel every half hour, so please make sure to arrive on time. More info about the ferry operated by the Trust for Governors Island here.
