About us
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” — Mark Twain
What is meaning of Soulventures? A phenomenon of seeking and fueling one’s soul with life experiences through adventures to enrich and fulfill one’s inner self. These adventures often involve stepping outside of one’s comfort zone, embracing new challenges, and cultivating a mindset of curiosity and self-discovery and can encompass a wide range of activities, from travel and exploration to creative pursuits and acts of service, all aimed at expanding personal growth and a deeper connection to one’s purpose and values.
Who we are: a social group is for those New Yorkers looking to escape from the 9 to 5 grind and the vicissitudes of living life in the concrete jungle, to break away from the ordinary and embrace the extraordinary with fun, exciting and YOUnique adventures and escapades with new friends who share your vibrational frequency and living a YOUnique life with sass, spice, and flare.
Our events: In this group, we aim to accomplish great things! Climb that mountain! Book that ticket! Take that weekend journey to explore a town you’ve never been to before. Try that new cuisine! Learn a new skill! Volunteer for a worthy cause! Hiking, walks in park, dining out, Broadway shows, museums, happy hours, movie nights, wine tasting, brewery tours, day trips, weekend getaway ... and for the adrenaline junkies, tell your fear to hold your beer because you’re about to jump off that perfectly good airplane! Carpe Diem Baby!
Why You Should Join Us: Our philosophy is simple … be positive, have fun and enjoy the moments and memories we will be building together. You only have one life to live, so make the best of that life! Life is too short to not live it to the fullest. Join us if you're up for living life in the moment and exploring the endless possibilities that come our way. Let's have fun, and make some incredible memories along the way!
Don't worry about coming to our events by yourself. RSVPs to all our events will be kept to no more than 20, taking into consideration those last minute cancellations. This way you will know everyone’s name and they will know yours. Everyone will have fun and hopefully go home having had a memorable time. As long as you are open to adventures, maintain a positive attitude and a willingness to try new things ... we want to meet you!
Getting there: No cars? No problemo. All our activities are not limited to just the NYC area, but are and can be located all over the map… north to Hudson Valley and east to Long Island, over the river to New Jersey, all reachable by public transportation via Metro-North, Long Island Railroad, New Jersey Transit and Amtrak, as well as MTA bus and subway.
Come join us and let the soulventures begin!

Our First Meetup: Hike and Spa
Location not specified yetSpring has sprung! Come join us as we experience the beauty of the Hudson Valley with a LEISURELY hike up to ANTHONY'S NOSE via the Appalachian Trail, followed by a walk across the Bear Mountain Bridge into Bear Mountain State Park to end at Bear Mountain Inn where you can indulge in optional spa treatments.
IMPORTANT NOTES: the bridge walk is easy BUT the trail up to Anthony’s Nose is NOT EASY!! The AT portion is rocky! This is NOT a beginner hike. Please be honest with your hiking ability before signing up. FOR THE HIKE WE'LL GO AT SLOW LEISURELY PACE. Though we will go slow you should still be able to handle physical demands of this hike.
About Anthony's Nose: This is a rugged ridge in the Hudson Highlands near Cortlandt Manor. A steep, 500-foot rock staircase takes you up the first section of the 2.6-mile hike, then a relatively flat trail leads to an overlook with views of the Hudson River and Bear Mountain Bridge.
GETTING THERE:
- In the morning, take the 7:57AM Metro-North from Grand Central Terminal to Manitou station. Note be sure to get one-way ticket as we will not be coming back to the same station at the end of the day
AGENDA:
- from Manitou we'll pick up the Appalachian Trail which will lead us to Anthony's Nose where we will have lunch break and admire the views
- Then we'll come down from the Nose which will leave us by the Bear Mountain Bridge. Have your cameras ready as we walk across the bridge .. the views are simply spectacular!!! The bridge walk will take us into Bear Mountain State Bear and the Bear Mountain Inn.
- At the Inn if anyone wants to indulge in spa treatments: https://bearmountainspa.com/. It is recommended that your book your treatment in advance before you get there to ensure staff availability
- At the end of the day we'll pick up the Shortline bus right outside the Bear Mountain Inn at 5:19PM that will take us back to THE PORT AUTHORITY BUS TERMINAL, NOT Grand Central Terminal
PLEASE NOTE, day's agenda is not written in stone and is subject to changes. Come with an open mind for adventure and flexibility for whatever the day might bring.
HIKE INTENSITY: Moderate to Easy with Leisurely pace which does not mean EASY!
TOTAL MILEAGE: About 7-8 miles
PACE: We go at LEISURELY PACE AND NO ONE WILL BE LEFT BEHIND. FAST HIKERS STAY AWAY!!!!
DURATION: This is an all-day event.
THE IMPORTANT STUFF:
- Dress in non-cotton layers.
- Wear appropriate shoes suitable for hiking.
- Bring at least 3 liters of liquid to stay hydrated.
- Bring lunch and snacks for yourself.
- Bring sunscreen, insect repellent, head cover
- Carry all your stuff in a backpack. You will need your hands free for some light rock scrambling up to Anthony's Nose!!
- Bring a sense of adventure and a positive attitude. A smile also goes a long way. Please leave the drama and crankiness at home.
WEATHER: rain will cancel hike
MEETUP FEE: a $2.00 Meetup fee will be collected when we meet to help defray the cost of keeping this group going.
