Summer is just about here and so is our June NYC Apps event! This month's theme is Made in NY (http://wearemadeinny.com). Our friends at Animoto (http://animoto.com/about) were generous enough to provide their beautiful space in the East Village.

Our first featured presenter this month is:
Wyatt Jenkins (https://twitter.com/wyatt_earp_), VP Product, Shutterstock (http://www.shutterstock.com)
Shutterstock is a leading global provider of high-quality licensed photographs (http://shutterstock.com/), vectors (http://www.shutterstock.com/cat-29-Vectors.html), illustrations (http://www.shutterstock.com/cat-23-Illustrations-Clip-Art.html) and videos (http://footage.shutterstock.com/) to businesses, marketing agencies and media organizations around the world. Headquartered in New York City, Shutterstock works closely with its growing contributor community of photographers, videographers, illustrators and designers to curate a global marketplace for royalty-free imagery (http://shutterstock.com/). Shutterstock adds tens of thousands of rights-cleared images each week, and with more than 25 million files currently available, the Company recently surpassed 300 million image downloads. Shutterstock owns Bigstock (http://bigstock.com/), a value-oriented stock media agency as well as recently launched Offset (http://www.offset.com/), a new high end brand for curated image. Shutterstock has also created Skillfeed (https://www.skillfeed.com/#!) an online marketplace which reinvents online learning for digital professionals by offering a diverse collection of credible, curated video courses through a simple, affordable subscription plan.
Raised in Colorado, Wyatt received his BA in Literature from University of Colorado at Boulder, a Master's Information Technology from CTU and studied product strategy at MIT. Wyatt has a passion for DJ'ing and electronic music, and prior to joining Shutterstock in 2009, he was a partner at Beatport.com - where he continues to serve on the board (and occasionally, the tables). Wyatt lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with his wife Celsea, his cat Uli, and the newest addition to the family, an English Bulldog named Mochi.
Our second featured presenter this month is:
Yee Peng Chia (http://www.linkedin.com/in/yeepengchia) and Justin Martin (http://www.linkedin.com/in/justinmartinm), iOS Developers, Brabble (http://brabble.com)
Brabble is a free app which supports the unique capturing and creating of life's moments in any of four formats – video, pictures, audio and text. The app connects users to the global Brabble social network where a unique feature enables humans to connect and converse on a whole new level: you can 'brabbleback' to a shared moment with a multi-media response of your own - replying with a video, picture, audio or text.
Brabble Founder and Chief Product Officer Jeff DePalma says, "We're not alone in seeing a burning need to help people better connect through their social sharing. The trouble is, for 15 years or more, it really wasn't a conversation, was it? I posted a picture of my lunch, or vacation or the kids, and you posted a comment in response. And by the way, if it was a picture, I usually posted on Facebook, now Instagram, increasingly Pinterest for some. Videos? Maybe on Tumblr or even YouTube, but more likely they just sat on our cells. Audio? SoundCloud, maybe…"
Brabble, based in New York City and the first product from BrabbleTV.com LLC, figures to quickly become the go-to, all-in-one social sharing network for consumers, starting with the hyper-connected young and 20-somethings, but quickly threading richly into the daily life of everyone on the planet.
Our third featured presenter this month is:
Matt Capucilli (http://mattcaps.com), Founder, Ketchup! (http://gottaketchup.com)
Ketchup is the only social planning application that focuses on social agreements rather than scheduled events. By collecting the tentative plans you are already making with your friends, you can create a social to-do list which is linked to other people. Ketchup launched in April 2013 and currently has 20,000 downloads. We are releasing a new version in the coming weeks which includes a news feed and some other features focused on user acquisition.
