Come learn about the Ops School project!
Ops School is a comprehensive program to teach you how to how to be an operations engineer. The goal of the program is to train and educate the next generation of operations engineers, to help meet the ever increasing demand for this skill set. Ops School started in Fall 2012, and has seen a large amount of contributed content from the community. The curriculum is open to contributors and distributed under the Creative Commons license.
About the speakers -
Avleen Vig is a Staff Operations Engineer at Etsy, where he spends much of his time growing the infrastructure for selling knitted gloves and cross-stitch periodic tables. Before joining Etsy, he worked at several large tech companies, including EarthLink and Google, as well as a number of small successful startups.
Patrick McDonnell is a Web Operations Manager at Etsy. He is working to grow the webops team, piloting Ops School via the team's internship program, and generally keeping the gears of the infrastructure well oiled. Before Etsy, he worked at Meetup, the lovely platform on withyou are now reading this very bio.
Patrick is the best dressed person in Ops.
