Event Description: The Green Apple Music & Arts Festival --the nation?s largest celebration of Earth Day-- is committed to raising environmental awareness by combining live musical performances from diverse genres with educational outreach and cultural events suitable for all audiences. I thought it would be fun to go see one of the performances.

We're going to to see the band Over the Rhine on Saturday night. DON"T BUY TICKETS YET. They have two performances that night one at 7:30pm and one at 9:30pm when you RSVP, let me know which one you'd be more interested in going to. I'll send out an email in the next 24 hours to let everyone know which show to buy tickets for and how to buy tickets.

Tickets are $25. There is no service fee charged at the box office or at the door at Joe's Pub. For all phone and web sales, there is a ticket service fee of $3 per ticket for tickets higher than $15

About the Band Over The Rhine:
From the understated heartland of the American Midwest hails a songwriting team that aspires to make a contribution to the Great American Songbook. Blissfully oblivious of the machinations of the music industry, Over the Rhine for over a decade have quietly gone about the real business of releasing timeless recordings, including their latest, Drunkard's Prayer.

By Subway:
6 to Astor Place and Lafayette Street/4th Avenue
N/R/W to 8th Street/NYU at Broadway

About the "Greening" of the Green Apple Music Festival:
With the support of Presenting Sponsor JP Morgan Chase and products contributed by Onyx Distribution, Green Apple will provide venues in each city with environmentally friendly cups and straws; napkins and paper towels made of recycled materials, compostable garbage bags and biodegradable cleaner to ensure the event is eco-friendly

Furthering their zero waste goal, the entire festival will be carbon-neutral, meaning it will offset any carbon dioxide emission produced as a result of the festival, making this the nation?s largest carbon-neutral event ever. Additionally, each venue will have an informational table featuring educational and volunteer information relating to prominent environmental issues and organizations.
- In efforts to combat global warming, the entire festival is carbon neutral, which means that we will offset the amount of fossil-fuel carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions that we generate
- Each venue features tabling whereby show goers can learn about ways to get involved with the earth?s preservation.
-The Green Apple Music & Arts Festival is pleased to work with Onyx Distribution and Services to provide each venue with:
*H2Orange2: An all-purpose cleaner that uses the power of Hydrogen
Peroxide to kill germs and bacteria. H2Orange2 does not contain any hazardous materials or harmful chemicals, and is an EPA certified, Green Seal approved product.
*Corn Plastic Cups and Straws: Which have the same look and feel as regular clear plastics and are more environmentally friendly. These plastics have a shelf life of over two years, yet will fully biodegrade in a compost bin in two months.
*Recycled Paper Products: Paper Towels and Beverage Napkins made from 100% recycled papers.
*Recycled Plastic Trash Can Liners: Made with resin pellets from recycled plastics.
