Welcome to NYC GRINDHOUSE -- the only group on Meetup that deals specifically with the Exploitation Film Genre.

We'll be watching old classics like Russ Meyer's 'Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!' and
Jack Hill's 'Coffy', the film that launched sexy Pam Grier into the spotlight, as well as newer Grindies like Tarantino's 'Death Proof' and 'MACHETE'!

When summer comes we'll take weekend road-trips to check out the few remaining DRIVE-INs in and around New York. Our favorite is the MAHONING DRIVE-IN in Lehighton, Pennsylvania. Yeah, that's right. It's in PA. Under a 2.5 hour drive from Times Square. Why? Because they only show 35 mm prints and you can camp overnight at the drive-in!! How AWESOME IS THAT?!

FINALLY, as the original 'Grindhouses' were named after the now defunct burlesque theaters located on 42nd Street in New York City, where 'bump n' grind' dancing and striptease were featured, we'll visit some of the remaining burlesque and vaudeville venues in NYC for a bit of naughtiness. . .
