Intro to Neo4j (Part 1 of 3)

After 8 months of requests for a Neo4j introduction course, we'll be holding one this month for all our members (well, the majority).  Many have been interested and we haven't had one since last winter.

Join us for pizza and drinks and learn about graph databases and cypher!

If you'd like to bring your laptop to follow along, you are welcome to do so.

We'll cover:

1.  a short history of NoSQL

2. what are graph databases?

3. Neo4j core features overview

4. an intro to Cypher (part 1 of 3)

Please note:  we will _not_ be recording this meetup as it has shown to encourage folks to not attend the meetups in lieu of watching it later (then never remembering to watch it!).  This may change later but I'd like to try this method out to see if less people will procrastinate :-)

Hope to see you there!

I am glad I came across this group in last October. This is an excellent Meetup group for anybody who wants to learn Neo4j or Graph databases in general. Nick Manning is an exceptional speaker and a very good organizer.

I'll ask them, I definitely haven't run into that or heard it reported. Have you posted on Stack Overflow or the Google group? A lot of the engineers are very visible on both of those.

How long (roughly) is the meeting scheduled to run? Also, do you have any plans to cover the non-Cypher api in future classes?
