Urban Permaculture in NYC
with Andrew Faust
Registration/Info: contact@homebiome.com

Learn to apply Permaculture Design to retrofit NYC to be a healthier and happier place for people to live in.

Permaculture Design can be used in the urban landscape to create deeply ecological businesses and enterprises while improving the ecology and health of the community.

We will cover aspects of rooftop farming, restaurant farm to table operations, bicycle compost pick up, rooftop edible native plant landscaping, natural non-toxic interior design, cleaning indoor air with houseplants, and ways to subvert the car dominated concrete jungle by centering humanity in the landscape.

We will also touch on designing permaculture landscapes, site analysis/design techniques for rooftop farms, city gardens and business ideas, added value products, working with bees, raising chickens and other micro-livestock in urban settings.

Permaculture often gets lumped into the category of fancy gardening, but in actuality it is a design tool that can be applied anywhere!

Brooklyn Permaculture Meetup
Once or Twice a Month -Mostly Online
7pm-9pm
$5 Suggested donation - no one turned away!

Permaculture is a whole systems design science that is positively changing the way people think and interact with Earth. Turn problems into solutions by joining us in the discussion, design and implementation of projects in and around Brooklyn and the surrounding region. We are looking to create an active group of motivated beings that want to contribute to all the positive change that is happening in our region and the world.
This Meetup is hosted by Andrew Faust with occasional guest speakers. Andrew is Co-director at Center for Bioregional Living which since 2007 has been training permaculture designers in NYC and starting June 1st 2012 at their rural campus in Ellenville, NY. A certificate in Permaculture Design is very helpful but not necessary.
