SPEAKERS & TALKS

Loren Sands-Ramshaw
Systems design on easy mode

Loren discusses some challenges and design patterns in distributed systems, including event-driven architecture, choreography, circuit breakers, task queues, and transactional outboxes. They also show how durable execution—code that's guaranteed to complete executing, even if the process dies, or downstream services are unreachable—solves them.

Loren is a developer relations engineer at Temporal. They worked on Temporal's Node runtime, wrote a book on GraphQL, and did consulting, startups, and open source.
