Empire Skate Club's 16th Annual Coney Island Skate **Intermediate**

Details
Another summer means another All-Brooklyn skate followed by lunch and a beach party into the night!
What to know and expect:
The skate itself is about 14 miles long. Expect to encounter various levels of terrain including but not limited to: uphills, big downhills on public roadways, shared pedestrian paths, uneven road surfaces, unforeseen and changing conditions, etc.
The skate is intended for at minimum the intermediate level skater who has experience skating in the street and sharing the road with cars. The route, pace and endurance is akin to a typical Wednesday night skate.
There will be some challenging uphills, some long thrilling downhills, seeing parts of Brooklyn that rarely get skated, followed by the best beach party skates have to offer. If this sounds like your kind if day here are the details:
Meet up:
- [ ] Q train “Kings Highway” train station. Use opposite 1702 east 16 street as a reference point for where to find the group to meet and set up.

- [ ] A multitude of our favorite options near the amusement park area will be suggested including but not limited to quick grab n go spots or somewhere to sit down and eat.
Beach:
- [ ] 230-3pm and onwards…
- [ ] Where: West side of the pier, behind MCU PARK and the Parachute Jump historic landmark.
- [ ] The skate is cool but people stay for the beach party
- [ ] Pack or wear your bathing suit, have a towel/blanket and be ready to enjoy the sun, sand, and a nice refreshing dip in the water along with plenty of cold drinks as we party into the night on the beach
Coolers and cups will be provided on the beach- skaters will be directed to purchase their own ice and drinks/refreshments/liquor. Bring football, frisbee, soccer ball, snacks etc hang out, drink, dance, make new friends or catch up with old ones and just have a good time until whenever!
Disclaimer:
Street Skating is an inherently dangerous activity and you are skating at your own risk. Helmets and wrist guards are strongly recommended due to the dangerous nature of street skating. Skaters should know their ability level, and those of the people around them and always proceed with awareness and caution.
