July 4th Coney Island Skate (Intermediate)

This is a 30-mile intermediate skate and will be mostly street skating with cars, using bike lines when possible, and will include one bridge. It's long and we'll be taking some detours along the way (see planned route), but we will be taking breaks to give people a chance to rest. Approximately 7 hour ride with 5.5 hours of moving time and 1.5 hours of rest, split up over the ride. You must know how to brake comfortably and skate on the street amongst the cars without assistance to attend (although we will all be there to help each other out).

Start: 72nd Street Q stop at 12pm (30 miles to end)
Pickup 1: Pier 76 at 1:30pm (24 miles to end)
Pickup 2: Washington Square Park arch at 2:30pm (21 miles to end)
Pickup 3: Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn at 4:30pm (12 miles to end)
End: Coney Island-Stillwell Q stop at 7pm (0 miles to end)
