Beginners Street Skating

Starting to rollerblade on the street amongst the cars can be intimidating. Some have found Wednesday Night Skate to be appealing but are not yet ready for those speeds. This will be a slow-paced skate from Pier 76 to Skater's Circle in Central Park for those who don't have experience skating in the street (all levels welcome, but keep in mind we'll be going slow).

Note: This is a beginner event, but not an absolute beginner event. You should at least know how to brake before joining us for this skate.

We'll meet at the front left area of Pier 76. We'll do some drills/training before we leave the pier so people can practice braking, skating on one foot, safety position prior to going out. If you want to skip the drills, meet us at 2pm. We aim to reach Skater's Circle by 3pm, which is when the music and dancing begin. Skater's Circle is the end of the ride. We will not be returning to the pier as a group.
