Details

Bridges can be intimidating for new skaters. The object of this event is for newer skaters to experience skating on bridges. Note: You absolutely positively must know how to brake comfortably in order to attend this event, or you could get badly injured on the steep downhill.

We will start at New York City Hall in Manhattan, which is right before the Brooklyn Bridge, cross the Brooklyn Bridge into Brooklyn, then skate over to the Manhattan Bridge and cross the Manhattan Bridge back into Manhattan. From there, we'll go up to the Williamsburg Bridge and take that back into Brooklyn, then go across Pulaski Bridge and take the 59th Street Bridge back into Manhattan.

The challenges that bridges present are as follows:
1. steep downhill once you get past the middle.
2. steep uphill until you get to the middle.
3. narrow lanes with bikers trying to pass you.
4. possible construction
5. curves

With all that, you might ask: why would anyone want to attend such an event? Well, practicing bridges is good practice for... more bridges.
