North Country Trail - WSS#7

North Country Trail – Saturday July 18 (rain date Sunday July 19)
This route includes 3 miles on the road from White Plains to Elmsford and then most of skate is on a beautiful trail up to Yorktown Heights. If you have never been on the North County Trail, you are in for a treat. Views of mountain sides, brooks, lakes, an amazing walking bridge, and all on a smooth wide path!! The pace will be at an intermediate rate, but you need to be able to do the distance. The way to Yorktown is more up, but the ride back is much easier.
FULL Skate
21 miles each way (total 42 miles) - Meet at 9:45am Leave at 10:00am.
Meet at White Plains Metro North Train Station, by the clock and taxi stand.
Train from Grand Central Station at 9:02am to White Plains (not White Plains North) at 9:43am
SHORTER Skate
From Elmsford it is 18 miles each way (total 36 miles), but no train, must drive and park in Elmsford.
Meet at Pete’s Saloon, 8 W Main St, at 10:15am. We will leave as soon as we arrive from White Plains.
We will break for lunch at around 1pm for an hour in Yorktown Heights at Primal Bowls (1877 Commerce St) 914- 214-8371 for healthy bowls, salads, wraps, smoothies and more.
We will then return to Elmsford at around 4:30pm and then White Plains at around 5:00pm.
Return train from White Plains at 5:14pm to GCT at 5:51 (also trains at 5:32, 5:42, and 6:14pm)
