The 1st NYC Screenwriter Meeting of 2019

Hello everyone!! The official 1st meeting will be March 14th! This will not change!! Guest Speaker booked and the room is booked!!

We have a guest Speaker!! It's going to be at Ripley Grier - ROOM 10D!! We have the big room!! YEAH!!!

The official meeting will start at 7pm. But you can start coming in 630 and on. We will start promptly at 7pm.

Our Guest Speaker is: Daryn Strauss!!

This will be our 1st meeting with the new organizer. It will be like a fireside chat:
1> We will do introductions with the group. I want to get to know you all! So this will be a fun Writer's Therapy Session!

2> I will also introduce myself, and talk about my experiences running the Baltimore Screenwriter's club, as well as my experiences covering Sundance 2019.

4> Afterwards - we will have time to mix and mingle. And Plan out the next meeting, etc. I also want to have a few moments to reflect on Steven Arvanites. He was a wonderful, inspirational guy. I'm sure we all have some stories about him..

She took home a WRITERS GUILD AWARD in 2016 for Weight, her comedy about the reality of life after reality TV weight loss, which she created, wrote, and executive produced.

She also developed #DAYOFF, a social media take on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off featuring internet superstars Cameron Dallas, Nash Grier, and Lauren Giraldo (over 3 million+ views) for Astronauts Wanted and Sony Music. She was part of the writing team of the EMMY AWARD winning interactive series The Lizzie Bennet Diaries (over 75 million+ views).

She served as the Programming Director for the EMMY nominated series MAKERS for AOL & PBS, leading an online content strategy for the broadcast of MAKERS: Women Who Make America on PBS (narrated by Meryl Streep), which became the biggest social media activation in AOL history. She also produced and directed the red carpet premiere event at Lincoln Center.

She has served as a producer for many star-studded Upfront and NewFront events, including producing the digital companion experience to NBCUniversal's 2017 Upfront campaign and event livestream from Radio City Music Hall.
