Replacing VBA with Python

Hi everyone,

Sorry for such short notice but we had a terribly difficult time finding a space. Thankfully Facebook gave us a huge hand and is hosting our meetup in their new offices on Madison Avenue.

Our speaker this month is Ben Lerner, founder of DataNitro (https://datanitro.com/) and recent MIT grad.

DataNitro is a Y-Combinator backed tool that integrates Python into Excel as a replacement for VBA. It provides access to all of Python's libraries, including SciPy, Pandas and QuantLib. And yes, Ben has promised me he will soon build R integration as well.

Ben will discuss how and why he built DataNitro and show what can be done with it.

As usual, we will get pizza from a local place (for you to rate) starting at 6:15 and Ben will begin around 7. After the talk we'll head to a nearby bar.
