About the Talk:
Time series data is commonly used across many industries. Specialized time series databases are historically tough to work with. Peak6 is storing and serving thousands of time series from TimescaleDB. This talk is a beginner friendly introduction to TimescaleDB from a neutral third party. We will take a peek under the covers, demonstrate some of the features, and discuss pros and cons.About Michael:
Michael Zelenetz is an engineer at Peak6 Capital Management working on the trading data team where he has the opportunity to work on a wide range of areas including option pricing, research, ML, and quantitative development. Michael is a long time attendee of the NY R meetup. The venue doors open at 6:30 PM America/New_York where we will continue enjoying pizza together (we encourage the virtual audience to have pizza as well). The talk, and livestream, begins at 7:00 PM America/New_York.
