September General Meeting of the New York Investing meetup

The next meeting of the New York Investing meetup wll be Wednesday, September 11th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the SLC Conference Center, 15 W 39th St, 3rd Flr.

A lot has happened in the markets since our last meeting. The US/China trade war has heated up again. The Fed has lowered interest rates for the first time in since Dec 2008. Even before that, US interests rates began a sharp drop, joining a worldwide decline that began last year. Globally, there are now $15 trillion of govt bonds with a negative yield (you pay to lend them money). They yield curve turned negative. Gold and silver seem to have entered a new bull market. Most of the market is very overpriced, yet there are still small pockets of bargains. There are certainly signs of more trouble on the horizon, but does that mean there will be a recession or major selloff anytime in the near future?

At the meeting, David Harris, PhD, and I will be looking at the stock, bond, currency and commodity markets from a variety of perspectives. David has his own proprietary model, which has been in deveolpment for 13 yrs. I use modern technical analysis indicators and techniques that have been tested and refined over the years. My presentation will be a little different that it has been in the past.
